Looking for Leaving

It is only a couple of sleeps now and we will be away. The lounge room is full of piles of clothes, come Friday morning the bags get packed, the last lots of laundry hang out and come back in. The last lots of life as we know it wind up towards another big trip halfway round the world.

I spent some time over the last few days documenting what we are leaving behind ... ....

You can reach our house by venturing down a dirt track between the trees:

Can you see the house at the end of the drive way?

Round a bend, and not so far from the street, is our home.

There is another way home though ... ...
                                                       ... ... along the creek:
just around the bend:

It's kinda pretty:

You have to pick your way around the pools, unless you're barefoot and bare-legged and you can choose to wade upstream,

The late-dry, early-wet brings on new growth

And the Pandanus reach out like Truffala Trees for a Lorax

Can you see the house at the top of the bank?

Almost there, just at the top of the bamboo stairs!

Of course, we're an island, so whichever direction you walk there's a bay:

Be it Horseshoe, or...

Nelly, or ...

Picnic.

And its all just the perfect setting for all those wonderful people ...

that we hope stay and keep well until once more we can go swimming in the bays and walking in the creeks and cuddling the toddlers and lunching at the cafe and signing the songs of our island life.
